I attended Design Week winter Market at the San Francisco Design Center this week and was eager not only to take in all the new introductions but also hear speakers on many topics.  A highlight  for me was at the Kravet showroom where I watch a Kravet frame upholstered start to finish.  We know there is an art to finely upholstered furniture and it was fun to see it in action.

Steven Mittman, Chairman of EFLM Upholstery in Los Angeles walked a room full of designers through the art and science of selecting the right fabrics for our upholstery projects, and importantly — avoiding the wrong ones.  Once again I’m reminded that though the beautiful silk velvets and lovely patterned fabrics seduce me they are best approached with great caution and skill and the right client pairing!

Each year there is always an update to color forecast at market.  More on the Benjamin Moore Color Pulse forecast in my next post.
