One of the joys of working as an interior designer is the need to be out in the community keeping a pulse on what is happening in retail, with other design professionals and vendors and inside the local art scene. Here I’m with friend and neighbor Debbie Nelson Motell, owner of Le Petit Chateau in the Fountains of Roseville. Her delightful ‘Made in Italy’ event was sponsored by the Italian consulate and featured not only lovely Italian made home furnishings but also tasty Italian food and wine. Debbie and I are joined in the above photo with Giorgio Moretti, owner of Antica Deruta a line of fine Italian ceramic wares and furniture.
Next, off to a special reception in honor of Sacramento artist William Ishmael hosted by The Foundry Gallery in Sacramento. His work was displayed beautifully throughout the gallery and his promise to me of ‘lots of orange’ rang true. William, like me, is a fellow engineer-by-training and in-a-former-life and is successfully pursuing his passion — it is evident in his paintings! With William in the above left photo and with my hubby Larry in the one below.
